A Symphonic Soiree

It was an ultra-elegant evening as Pacific Symphony’s “2017-18 Classical Opening Night Celebration & Concert” launched its highly anticipated 39th season. More than 320 guests attended the black-tie event held at the Westin South Coast Plaza Hotel, which honored Symphony musicians, and members of the Hal and Jeanette Segerstrom Family Foundation, and raised $200,000 for the Symphony’s award-winning artistic and education programs. The posh fete featured champagne, gourmet delicacies and an exquisite opening performance by the orchestra, led by Music Director Carl St. Clair and spotlighting Beethoven’s epic “Fifth Symphony,” Strauss’s romantic “Don Juan,” and selections from Wagner’s thrilling “Die Walküre.” It was an opulent and festive affair that hit all the right notes!
